Michelle Alter is a Retail Success Manager with NewStore Inc., a retail technology platform headquartered in Boston. NewStore helps its global retail clients deliver a world class customer experience in all aspects of the retail journey, from shopping and mobile checkout to fulfillment. NewStore provides order management, point-of-sale, inventory, and omnichannel communications as a software service delivered via iPhone apps. Since joining NewStore, the company has doubled the number of customers and received multiple rounds of venture funding from General Catalyst, Activant Capital and Salesforce Ventures. Before joining NewStore, Ms. Alter worked for over eleven years as a store manager with Target and Apple. At Target, she led a $60 million location and helped the retailer transition to a new supply chain model that simultaneously supports in-store customers and Target.com orders. While at Apple, Ms. Alter ran floor/product operations and training initiatives. During the pandemic, she led her team through four different operating models in one year. Ms. Alter’s passion for retail and innovation came from her time at Isenberg as an Operations and Information Management major. She graduated with a B.B.A. in 2011. Outside of work, Ms. Alter enjoys traveling and volunteering at an independent living facility.
