As NPD’s Head of Compensation, Benefits, HRIS and Payroll, Melissa Sparr is responsible for leading the Global Compensation (including Executive Compensation programs) and HRIS functions along with the US and Canadian Benefits and Payroll teams.  In addition, Melissa manages the budgeting and forecasting of HR departmental expenses, as well as some corporate expenses such as bonuses, 401k contributions and the US Health and Welfare plans.

Prior to joining the NPD Group, Melissa was the Financial Director – Shared Services for Essence , In Style and Real Simple magazines at Time Inc.  Before that, Melissa had a 25 year career at Time Inc. holding numerous positions in Corporate Finance, as well as at Time, People and Real Simple Magazines. Upon graduation from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst with a BBA , Melissa worked as an Auditor for Ernst & Whinney.
