Courtney Edson
Courtney serves as an audit, senior manager at KPMG, specializing in the consumer and industrial markets industry with a particular focus on audit engagements for public companies. In her role, she is responsible for planning and executing financial statement and internal control audits. Courtney also plays a vital role in the mentor and coaching, newer team members, ensuring they are well-versed in audit procedures and documentation. Additionally, she leads client communications, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clarity throughout the audit process.
Beyond her core responsibilities, Courtney is a business unit audit technology lead, driving the implementation and utilization of advanced technology in audit practices at KPMG. Her expertise in leadership in this area help enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of audit engagements.
Courtney graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2015 with a bachelor of business administration and accounting and in 2016 with a masters of science and accounting. She began her career with KPMG in the Boston audit practice.
Courtney is a Certified Public Accountant and holds memberships with both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts society of Certified Public Accountants.
In her spare time, Courtney enjoy spending time outdoors with family and friends whether it's walking, hiking, boating, or skiing. While at Umass Amherst she was a member of the women's rowing team and continues to give back to the Sport by volunteering with Concord crew located in Concord, New Hampshire. Courtney is also a proud dog owner and love spending time with her two dogs Tilly and Gus.
